Clarissa Rodriguez, President of Theta Omicron Chapter at Univ. of Texas/Rio Grande Valley, lives truly in her life,

Clarissa Rodriguez, President of the Theta Omicron Chapter at the University of Texas/Rio Grande Valley, is living truly in her life, dedicated to helping others and to show temperance, insight and courage.

"For the past three years," Clarissa said, "I have called Delta Zeta my home. If you were to ask me what sorority life meant to me before initiation, I would say frilly colors, fun events and social interactions. However, as a member, I have come to realize that Delta Zeta is so much more than that.

"It’s an organization that empowers women to fulfill their goals and dreams. How is this possible when having so much fun? Because the bonds that we create with our sisters not only bring us joy, but the motivation to press forward because of their support and successes as well."

Clarissa demonstrates the power of sisterhood and the strength of living truly. "The stereotypes of sorority women still exist, but Delta Zeta has encouraged me to continue working toward my dream of achieving my M.D. (Doctor of Medicine). Many think that you can’t have it all, but you can. I have a lifetime of memories that can never be taken away. I have bonded with women who I have the honor of calling my sisters. I have the support system that enables me to believe in myself. I have the greatest letters anyone can wear, Delta Zeta, and I am going to change the world."
