Delta Zeta’s 2nd annual spring philanthropy event, DZ Dodge Tournament, where teams will dip, dodge, dive, duck, and dodgeball their way to victory. The proceeds from the tournament helped benefit both our local and national hearing and speech philanthropies, Starkey Hearing Foundation and Lexington Hearing and Speech Center. Lexington Hearing and Speech Center is a school where children with hearing and speech impairments can get the specialized care they need to get the most out of their education. The event also helped to benefit the Delta Zeta Foundation. This year we had the honor to host some of the children from LHS/Kentucky Hands and Voice. These children were able to come out and watch the event, play carnival games and also participate in a dodgeball game with the members of the Delta Zeta- Alpha Theta chapter before the championship. From this event, our chapter was able to raise and donate around $2,800 to our various philanthropies. This was such a fun event and an amazing way to help support our philanthropies. We can't wait till next year!

The Alpha Theta chapter of Delta Zeta hosted its 18th annual Mr. UK pageant at Memorial Hall on the University of Kentucky campus. All proceeds from the event were donated to our national philanthropy the Starkey Hearing Foundation and our local philanthropy Lexington Hearing and Speech. The competition consisted of 19 young men who are associated with several different organizations and chapters throughout campus. These organizations include Greek Organizations, UK Cheerleading, ROTC, and more. Each contestant was competing for the chance to be the next Mr. UK as well as a $300 scholarship provided by the Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Zeta at the University of Kentucky. Each contestant had coaches to help them along the way, consisting of a coach from Delta Zeta as well as a coach from a different sorority on campus to promote Mr. UK and to participate in fundraising. This year at Mr. UK, the Alpha Theta chapter raised $30,581.00 to be donated to our philanthropies, Lexington Hearing and Speech and Starkey Hearing Foundation.
DanceBlue is a University of Kentucky student-run organization that fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. All of the money raised through DanceBlue is donated to the Golden Matrix Fund, established to support the kids and families of the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic both today and well into the future. DanceBlue also helps to provide funds to support research at the UK Markey Cancer Center.
