Super Bowl Service Project 2019!

2019 has already been so amazing for the Delta Zeta Chapter at Georgia State University, filled with amazing sisterhood events, service projects, supporting greek life, and various upcoming philanthropies. One of their most recent service projects was for Action Ministries. This event took place on January 27th, 2019; a week before the Superbowl. Hope Batzel, Vice President of Philanthropy stated, “Working with your sisters to help serve the Greater Atlanta community was such an amazing experience. We helped to package 5,000 boxes of food for families in Georgia with food insecurity. Our team was the first to package 100 snack bags out of 80 other teams in the packing competition. It was an exciting event to serve the community the weekend before the Super Bowl!”
This project is just one of the many that show the value and character the sorority represents. They are taught (and truly want) to be kind and giving, and to give back to the community that has given so much to them. This event also showed that coming together to help others created a stronger sense of unity between the sisters. To help others together, and to truly realize how fortunate everyone is in their lives and to be able to be a Delta Zeta is eye-opening, bringing them that much closer together.

Delta Delta Chapter (Georgia State University) helps community by volunteering at food bank

The Delta Delta Chapter (Georgia State University) volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank (AFCB) and sorted more than 6,000 pounds of food over the course of two days. The chapter was honored to serve the community in this way.

Founded in 1979, ACFB procures more than 60 million pounds of food and groceries each year and distributes it to more than 600 nonprofit partner agencies serving families and individuals in 29 metro Atlanta and north Georgia counties.
