The Epsilon Gamma Chapter at the University of Central Missouri dedicated an entire week to raising funds for speech and hearing.
The first two days of their Hike for Hearing Week were dedicated to selling tickets for the Hike itself to students, family and friends. On day three, Buffalo Wild Wings donated 10 percent of someone’s purchase to speech and hearing philanthropy when the customer brought in a ticket, saying that they were patronizing the establishment because of Delta Zeta's promotion.
Day four included two different events. The first was “Paint-A-Turtle" and the second, “Hamburgers for Hearing." The day of the Hike brought much anticipation. "It was a success and was a fantastic moment for all who participated," said member Tessa Shrout.
The chapter's goal was to raise $5,000 during the week, but Hike for Hearing week was so successful that the chapter raised over $8,000. "The passion the women of the Epsilon Gamma Chapter have for our philanthropy is what really drove our success through the roof," Tessa continued. "We hope that our contribution can help provide someone the chance to experience the world as they never have before."
