Xi Delta, Radford University
About Xi Delta Chapter
Xi Delta was founded on March 19, 1983 at Radford University in Radford, VA. We've been around 36 years and going strong!
Our chapter is a part of Delta Zeta Region 4. We currently have a total of 50 members in our chapter and our average GPA is 2.95! For the academic year Fall 2016 through Spring 2017 our chapter has donated 942 service hours and $2444.50!
Two members of the Xi Delta Chapter at Radford University, Nicole Carty and Lindsey Rose, participated in the Polar Plunge on February 27, 2016 on the New River in Radford, Virginia, to raise money for Virginia’s Special Olympics.
Members of the chapter also posted donation pages to encourage donations. Megan Allen reached her goal of $50 and raised the most amount of money in the chapter. "Nicole and Lindsey took the plunge into the freezing cold river on that February morning and came out smiling," said Glen Carmichael, LAMP Editor. "Hundreds of people came out to support this amazing cause and we are glad that our chapter represented Delta Zeta and our love of giving back."
On April 2, 2016, the Xi Delta Chapter at Radford University held its annual 24-hour See-Saw-a-thon. The day started out sunny and fun for all, but at night, the winds reached around 30 miles per hour. At about 1:00 a.m. that night, all of the power in Radford went out, including the streetlights, ending the chapter's event.
"Even though we only got about half of our hour goal, we still raised $432 for Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.. This event was one for the books and we cannot wait to raise even more money next year!" said Glen Glen Carmichael, LAMP Editor.
