Xi Eta was founded on March 24, 1984 at Northwood University in Midland, MI. We've been around 34 years and going strong!

Our chapter is a part of Delta Zeta Region 6. We currently have a total of 15 members in our chapter and our average GPA is 3.38! For the academic year Fall 2016 through Spring 2017 our chapter has donated 74 service hours and $0.00!

Xi Eta Chapter hosts annual Hike for Hearing event at Northwood University

The Xi Eta Chapter hosted its Hike for Hearing philanthropy event on April 2, 2017.

"We are so proud of Hannah, our Vice President of Philanthropy,  for coordinating such a great event!," said Autumn Tomasko, LAMP Editor and Risk Management Chairman. "We had a great turnout of friends, family and members running our half-mile to help raise awareness for children in need for the Starkey Hearing Foundation. There were plenty of laughs and memories while raising money for such an important cause.

"After the race we had a picnic where everyone was invited to enjoy hot dogs, chips and refreshments! Our members at the Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University love attending this event every year and cannot wait for the next!"

Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) raises money in the fight against cancer in memory of a member lost to the disease

The Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University helped raise funds for to fight colon cancer the week of February 13, 2017. "We sold candies, shirts and match-making quizzes themed for Valentine's Day," said Autumn Tomasko, LAMP Editor and Risk Management Chairman. Each year the chapter raises money in the fight against colon cancer in memory of a past member lost to the disease. "All of the proceeds went to Erica Paul Team Fabulous," Autumn said.

Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) has a gratifying experience when volunteering at local soup kitchen

On February 10, 2017, the Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University volunteered at Midland's Open Door, a non-profit organization that accepts donations to purchase food for meals. The organization feeds those in need.

The Xi Eta Chapter helped prepare meals for those in need. The members were in charge of preparing sandwiches, tossing salads, and serving the food with bright smiles on their faces. "Many of us enjoyed volunteering so much that we are planning to return to help out during the weekdays," said Autumn Tomasko, LAMP Editor.

Xi Eta Chapter teams with Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity to adopt a family during the holiday

The Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University teamed with Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity to adopt a family this Christmas through the  Salvation Army.

"We raised more $400 to provide this local family with a Christmas meal, new clothing and toys!" said Hannah Twardy, Vice President of Philanthropy. "We loved being able to help a family in need and had a lot of fun gathering the gifts for the mom and children."

Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) supports the fight against breast cancer

On October 15, 2016, the Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) participated in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Awareness 5k. "We raised $325 by selling t-shirts, ribbon pins, bracelets, candy and raffle baskets," said Hannah Twardy, LAMP Editor. "Our members loved raising money for this great cause!"


Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) raises funds for muscular dystrophy

Members of the Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) sold shamrocks and raffled items to benefit the Maria Donadio Foundation, which raises money for muscular dystrophy. Maria is an alumna of the chapter. "We were so happy to raise more than $200 for our sister and the Foundation," said Hannah Twardy, LAMP Editor.
Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) raises money for St. Jude Children's Hospital

The Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University participated in Up 'til Dawn, a national collegiate organization that raises awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Hospital. The chapter raised $400 to help support the organization.
Xi Eta Chapter (Northwood University) raises money for colon cancer awareness in memory of member

The Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University sold various Valentine's Day items and photo booth pictures to raise money for the chapter's local philanthropy, colon cancer awareness. This philanthropy is especially meaningful for the chapter as one of its members, Erica Gough Paul, passed away from colon cancer. All of the proceeds went to Erica Paul Team Fabulous.

Four members of the Xi Eta Chapter at Northwood University volunteered at Midland's Open Door, the local soup kitchen. Xi Nu is glad to contribute to the more than 46,500 meals the shelter serves in a year.
