Krista Tobin, President of Xi Omega (Purdue Univ.), lives truly in her leadership

"It was amazing to not only give back to this family, but also spend time with a child who benefits from all we do for speech and hearing as a national sorority."

Krista Tobin is President of the Xi Omega Chapter at Purdue University. Majoring in business management, with a concentration in Global Leadership and Human Capital, Krista will graduate in May, 2017. She talks about the ways in which Delta Zeta has helped her live a truly amazing life.

"Delta Zeta has influenced my life in many ways," she said. "I truly could not imagine my life without the impact of what Delta Zeta has done for me. I have gained the understanding of resiliency, dedication, integrity and values that now define me as an individual. Being able to grow, enhance, advance and improve my life is nothing short of the truth. Words simply cannot describe the experiences, friendships and learning opportunities that I have been given to better myself. Being a part of such a premier women's organization was so much more than I originally expected.

"Being able to truly immerse myself in the appreciation and understanding of our values and Creed has allowed me to make our sacred ritual into my daily Ritual. It has also been a catalyst to have the drive to achieve personal and organizational goals, as well as wanting to serve for my family, sisters, community and national philanthropy. Having the experiences of knowing how it can impact not only myself but also those around me is such a rewarding experience.

Krista's leadership and involvement, both inside and outside of Delta Zeta, has included serving as the Purdue University Dance Marathon Finance Director, participant in the Indiana Greek Leadership Conferences (IGLC), charter member of the Fraternal Values Society, participant in the Chapter President's Leadership Advance (CPLA), graduate of Fraternity Sorority Cooperative Leadership Institute, and a graduate of the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI:Purdue).

Krista continued, "'I promise temperance, and insight and courage ... May I give graciously of what is mine. To my friends, understanding and appreciation,  to my mind growth, to myself faith' are the parts of the Creed that really resonate with me. I continually focus on those parts to utilize as a source of motivation and reminders of why I strive and push myself to make a difference, accept opportunities and, most importantly, to become a more well-rounded individual.

"I am so thankful and honored to have all these opportunities to take on leadership roles that have shaped me into who I am today."
